Post - Training Refreshers

Training refreshers ensures employees maintain knowledge and competence in respect to their relevant position, workplace health and safety and company policies and procedures.

Consistent training refreshers can:

-        help employees retain crucial information;

-        enable employers to identify and address knowledge gaps;

-        reduce mistakes and boost productivity;

-        ensure compliance; and

-       foster a culture of continuous learning.

Although there is no specific timeframe on how often a training refresher should be conducted, it is considered best practice to conduct these at least annually. However, it is important to note that some companies or organisations may require more frequent refreshers which may be determined by any compliance obligations a company may have (i.e. quarterly or every six months). With that being said, we recommend keeping a close eye on employee’s needs.

Additionally, it is important to note training refreshers should also be conducted when:

-        there is a compliance need for the company or organisation to complete regular training refreshers; or

-        an employee returns to work after an extended period of time; or

-        there is a change in a process or policy; or

-        new equipment is used; or

-       an incident occurs.
